You don’t need to be flexible to practice yoga just as you don’t have to be muscular to go to the gym. It is the practice of yoga itself that helps you build flexibility. Rest assured, it’s not a prerequisite. Come as you are!
Can I practice yoga if I have a medical condition?
If you have medical clearance from your doctor for a current medical condition, then you can go ahead and practice yoga. Otherwise, we suggest you consult your doctor first. That said, many students with scoliosis, hypertension, asthma, etc find relief in their yoga practice. Make sure you inform your teacher of any medical condition you have so personalized instructions may be given to you.
How many times a week should I take yoga class if my lifestyle is sedentary to begin with?
If you have a sedentary lifestyle, we suggest that you practice yoga 5-6 times a week. You can alternate Flow or Hot which are more vigorous in nature with Yin that offers more restoration and relaxation. That way, you get the full benefits across these varied styles of yoga.
How many times a week should I take yoga class if I have a very active lifestyle that includes sports, cross-fit or other physically strenuous activities?
If you are an athlete who wishes to cross train, we recommend taking yoga at least 3 times a week. Depending on how busy your schedule is, you may practice daily as yoga not only helps your flexibility and balance but your mental focus as well.
If I arrive late, will I be able to take class?
Things happen unpredictably, so we do allow a grace period of 10 minutes. After that, we close the doors to minimize distraction for those already in the class and to keep the practice safe for you! We suggest taking the next class instead so you start with a calm and collected mind.
Is there a minimum age for yoga?
We require a minimum age of 14 to practice at yoga+express studios to ensure that the student is both physically and mentally ready for the challenges of a yoga practice.
Is there a maximum age for yoga?
We do not impose a maximum age for taking yoga classes at yoga+express. In fact, we have observed that our senior citizen students benefit greatly from working on their balance, flexibility and strength.
What makes yoga+express different from yoga+?
yoga+express classes are all 60 minutes long. This is to address the growing demand of people who want more yoga. yoga+express studios uphold the same high standard of quality and service as yoga+, while making yoga more accessible to more people through shorter class durations and more affordable packages.
What makes yoga+express different from other yoga studios?
yoga+express studios offer flexibility in the way in which you practice. There are Hot, Hot Core, Flow, Jivamukti, Fundamentals, Yin, and Inferno Hot Pilates classes to choose from. Studio rooms are spacious, and hot classes make use of far infrared heaters that provide gentle heat that is also good for the skin. yoga+express members are also welcome to practice at other yoga+express or yoga+ branches for a small fee. We get that you want more yoga for less!
Can I use my membership to practice in other yoga+express and yoga+ studios?
For yoga+express members, you can extend your yoga experience by trying our other branches. Please bring your own mat and towels or you can rent them from the studio for a fee. If you wish to practice in any yoga+ studio in BGC, Makati and Ortigas, there is a minimal add-on fee of P200 which already includes free use of mat and towels and free bath toiletries.
For yoga+ members, you can practice in yoga+express subject to a P100 inter-branch fee. Please bring your own mat and towels or you can rent them from the studio for a fee.
